Nissin Air 10s Wireless Commander Firmware Update Instructions
The Nissin Air 10s Wireless Commander has user-upgradeable firmware. That means that you can update the internal software that runs the Air 10s in order to add compatibility with new cameras, fix problems, or to add features.
The Air10s firmware can be updated by downloading current firmware files to a MicroSD card (FAT32 formatted) and inserting the MicroSD card into the Air10s to perform the update.
How to Check an Air 10s's Current Firmware Version:
1. Power on the Air 10s by pressing and releasing the power button. Wait a few seconds for the Air 10s to start up.
2. After releasing the power button, press and hold the power button again, this time for 5 seconds.
3. The Air 10s display with show numbers on two separate lines that represent the currently installed firmware version.
How to Update the Air 10s Firmware:
1. Download the appropriate Air10s firmware update file to your computer. Scroll down to the bottom of the Air10 s Product Page at NissinDigital.com and click the "Download" button next to the firmware version for your camera brand. Open the .zip file downloaded to your computer, and you will find a folder with two .hex files inside it. | |
2. Insert a MicroSD card into your computer's card reader and make sure that that card is formatted in FAT32 format. | |
3. Copy the .hex files that you downloaded to your computer (and extracted from the .zip file) onto the MicroSD card. | |
4. Make sure the Air 10s is powered off. Insert the MicroSD card into the MicroSD card slot on the Air 10s and turn the Air 10s on by pressing the power button. | |
5. The LED light on the Air 10s will blink orange and then red. Wait until the LED blinks green, indicating that the firmware update is complete. | |
6. Remove the MicroSD card from the Air 10s. Press the power button on the Air 10s to restart the commander. You can now check the Air 10s's current firmware version (see steps, above) to confirm that the update was installed. |
