About Nissin Digital Japan

Nissin Digital Japan has been one of the leading manufacturers of electronic flash units for almost 60 years

Founded in 1959, Nissin created their first professional flash unit named the "PRIMO" in 1967.  By 1987, Nissin introduced the first dedicated auto-focus flash which integrated an auto-focus assist light. 

A timeline of recent Nissin flash developments:

In 2007, Nissin introduced the Di28 digital SLR flash followed by the 2008 introducing of the Di466 with universal hotshoe cord.  Nissin next released their flagship model Di866 Professional flash in 2008 which incorporated an auto-rotating color display interface. 

Sony compatibility became a focus of Nissin in 2010 with the introduction of the Di622 Mark II flash. 

Between 2013 and 2019, Nissin Digital has won an amazing four TIPA awards for "Best Portable Lighting System" and two TIPA awards for "Best Lighting Accessory."

In 2013, Nissin introduced the versatile Di700 flash. 

Nissin's launch of the Nissin i40 in 2014 brought impressive power to the compact-flash size needed for newer mirrorless camera bodies. 

In 2015, Nissin introduced Nissin Air System (NAS) Wireless with the Di700A and Air 1 Commander. 

In 2016, Nissin introduced the compact i60A flash for Sony. 

in 2017, Nissin launched the Nissin Air 10s wireless controller.

In 2018 and 2019, Nissin have launched the powerful MG10 flash and compact i600 flash.

The advanced MG80 Pro flash, with superior heat protection and advanced commander capabilities shipped at the end of 2019.
